Billy Harmon, 73, of Dublin, passed away peacefully at his home Monday, December 3, 2007 after a long illness.

He was born November 6, 1934 at Elk Garden, Va. and was preceded in death by his parents, Stuart and Hester Ray Harmon; a sister, Mildred Hess and two brothers, Bob and Jim Harmon.

He was retired from the National Park Service, Fredericksburg, Va. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Moye Harmon; four daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and David Carter of Bowling Green, Va., Cyndy Harmon, Glen Allen, Va., Alesia and Steve Davenport, Bowling Green, Va., and Billie and David Hall, Floyd, Va.; five grandchildren, Chris Richards, Dawn Perry, Justin and David Carter and Zach Hall; six great-grandchildren, Austin, Amelia and Cierra Richards, Amber and Austin Carter, Julia Perry; and brother and sisters, Shirley Shepherd, Jesse Shelor and Gene Harmon of Radford.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 1 p.m. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Rev. Jerry Gibson officiating. Burial in the Staffordsville Cemetery, Staffordsville. Visitation will be at the funeral home Wednesday, December 5, 2007 after 1 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
