Harless, Maxine Bradley

On November 15, 2021, Oretha “Maxine” Bradley Harless passed away peacefully at age 92. Her wishes were honored as she remained in her home surrounded by her family.

Maxine was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. Family was the most important part of Maxine’s life and she spent her days dedicated to caring for her loved ones. Maxine enjoyed gardening, cooking, puzzles, and her pets. She had a lifetime bond to the farm where she was born, raised, and eventually went on to raise her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Spruce Run Church of the Brethren and served as a Deaconess for many years.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Cecil Harless Jr., and their infant son. Also preceding her in death was her mother, Evelyn Surface Bradley Burton, her stepfather Ed Burton, her father Ray Bradley, and her brother Edwin Bradley.

Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Dianna Stone (husband, Champ). Donna Bowman, Cynthia Laws (Bill Laws) and Laura Powell (Andy Powell) and brother Dennis Burton (Becky Burton).

Always made to feel loved and special were her 7 grandchildren, Carla Jordon (Devaughn Jordan), Amie Hood (Doug Hood), Heather King, Shane Laws (Kristin Laws) Christina Laws (Wes Comer), Megan Powell, and Seth Powell (Anna Powell).

11 great grandchildren (Tyler, Trevor, Madison, Trent, Gage, Logan, Rylan, Luke, Eli, Solomon, and Cora) and 2 great, great grandchildren (Bailey, McKenna).

A graveside service will be held at 1:00PM on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the Bradley Cemetery in Lindside, WV, with Roger Boothe and Dewey Broyles officiating.
