Hardymon Jr., Charles Albert (Red)
Charles (Red) Albert Hardymon, Jr., 77, of Christiansburg, died Monday, January 1, 2007 at his home. He was born in Louis County, Ky. on August 7, 1929 to the late Charles A. and Mary Fannon Hardymon. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Carl Hardymon and Wilford Hardymon; sisters, Thelma Hardymon, Juanita Trese, and Mary Alice Belleys.
He was a veteran of the Korean War and was retired from Kenan Transportation.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie Hardymon of Christiansburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Sandra Hardymon of Dublin, Doug and Nancy Hardymon of Parrott; brothers and sisters-in-law, Don and Hazel Hardymon, Charles and Norma Hardymon, all of Bucyrus, Ohio, Albert Hardymon and Mike Hardymon, both of Indiana; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorene and Henry Ginn of Vanceburg, Ky., Linda and Wayne Cook of Oklahoma; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and special friends, Jean Cook and Charles Brewer.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Buckner and the Rev. Richard Hutchison officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg.
