Hardy, Evelyn Virginia

In the wee hours of the morning of Tuesday, June 3, 2008, Evelyn Virginia Hardy answered the call of her heavenly Father.

She was born October 30, 1923, to the late General Via and Margaret Via, of Floyd, Va. Preparing a place for her with her Savior Jesus Christ are her father and mother; her son; a sister; and three brothers. Left to cherish her memory here on earth are her sons, Walter (Marie) Hardy, James C. (Carolyn) Hardy, Archie (Yvonne) Via, John (Carolee) Hardy and Anthony Hardy; and one daughter, Vandora Gilbert. She was also blessed to see five generations of 27 grandchildren; 60 greatgrandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren, and believe it or not she knew every one of their names. She also leaves a sister, Frances Pugh, of Floyd, Va.; two brothers, Walker Via, of Floyd, Va., and Peter Via, of Roanoke, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was a devoted member of Bibleway Pentecostal Apostolic Church of Christ where she served as a missionary until God said that her mission work was complete.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008, at Bibleway Pentecostal Apostolic Church of Christ with Bishop Joe Adkins officiating. The interment will be in the Family Cemetery, New River, Va.
