Hampton, Virgie Bryan

Virgie “Granny” Bryan Hampton, age 88 of Pulaski, died Tuesday June 19, 2007 in Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center.

She was born September 10, 1918 in Rhoda, Va., and was the daughter of the late Gracie Poff Neeley and Rufus A. Neeley. She attended Peak Creek Mission Church. She was known by many as a long-time resident of McMillian’s Trailer Park on Case Knife Road in Pulaski.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Vernon Bryan and husband, Charlie H. Hampton, 3 brothers; William M. Neeley, John P. Neeley, and Charlie Neeley, a sister, Ida J. Neeley, and a granddaughter, Denni M. Servin.

She is survived by a daughter, Carol L. Bryan Morris and her husband Robert of Roanoke, a son, Donnie Bryan and his wife Sandra of Dublin. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday June 22, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons with the Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Interment will follow in the Dublin Town Cemetery.
