Anthony “Blake” Hammons, 48 of Pearisburg, VA departed this life suddenly at his residence on October 21, 2020. Born February 10, 1972 in Giles County, he was a son of the late Frankie Blake Hammons and Betty Jean Dunigan Snider.

Blake was a proud member of the Giles High School Class of 1991! He was very proud of his new job working for the Town of Pulaski doing custodial work close to his friend Rick. For those who knew Blake, he was a friend to all he met. He always had a story or joke to tell and loved talking to people. He loved the Washington Redskins and would confidently say HTTR (Hail to the Redskins). He also loved NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, because of that, anything Chevrolet. He was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt and just enjoyed being outside. He didn’t know a stranger. You got that box?

Blake was preceded in death by his parents, and Step-father, Rex Allen Snider.

Left to cherish his memory are his step-mother, Marla Snider; sister, Regina Hammons Harless and husband Mark Harless; niece Kaitlynn Harless; nephew, Ethan Harless; cousins, Donnie Rhodes, Kim and Danny Weatherly, Alicia and Ernie Long, Samantha and Austin Boothe, Megan and Matt Guynn, Tammy Hammons Burton and Allen Burton; uncle, Donald Dunn; and SO MANY SPECIAL OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS AND NUMEROUS FRIENDS.

There will be a graveside service held Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 11:30 AM at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, VA. Family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel in Pembroke, VA on Saturday, October 24, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

In honor of Blake’s love of music, the family requests in lieu of flowers to make donations to the youth music program at Riverview Baptist Church.

We humbly request to honor and respect the family that masks be worn to the visitation. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.kendallfuneralhome.com. The staff of Kendall Funeral Home are honored to be serving the Hammons family.
