Hamlin, Elvin Randolph

Elvin Randolph “Randy” Hamlin, of Elliston and Blacksburg, passed away this Saturday after a long illness. He was never alone, in life or in death. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Roberta Odham Hamlin. He is survived by his father, James Clarence Hamlin; and his two sisters, David and Rebecca Hamlin Morris, Greg and Rose Hamlin Hill. He also had three nieces, Rachel Morris Echols, Jessie Hilton, and Rochelle Newman. And his grandniece and nephews, Sasha, Gabe and David Rossi Echols, and Rylan Newman. Randy was loved and cared by through his final illness by his longtime girlfriend, Brenda Cox. She was aided by Buster and Gloria Horn. Arrangements for his cremation are being handled by the McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg, Va. A memorial service to celebrate Randy’s life is being planned for the Eastertide. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local animal shelter or St. Jude’s Hospital for Children.
