Hamilton, Alexander Lacy
Alexander Lacy Hamilton, 82, of Radford, Va., went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 22, 2010, at his home. He was born on September 30, 1927, and was preceded in death by his parents, Ribble and Ethel Foster Hamilton; a daughter, Pamela Hamilton Teel; three infant brothers; three infant sisters; and a former wife, Virginia Dehart Hamilton. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Gloria Hamilton, of Radford; son-in-law, William F. Teel, of Christiansburg; four granddaughters and one grandson-in-law, Camille Teel, of Christiansburg, Stacie and Chelsey Hamilton, both of Radford, and Chrissy Hamilton Hedge and Patrick Hedge, of Dublin; four greatgrandchildren, Mackenzie, Makayla, Jeremiah and Madelyn Hedge, all of Dublin. Alexander attended Lee High School in Cleveland, Tenn., and he retired from Meadow Gold Dairy in Radford, Va., after 42 years of dedicated service. He loved God, his family, and his church; he was a very dedicated Christian. He sang and played with several gospel groups while attending Parrott Church of God and the West Radford Church of God where he was a dedicated member. He had a special talent for playing multiple string instruments; the guitar and mandolin being his favorite. He was also very artistic. Alexander was a God fearing man who loved and supported his church and read his Bible daily. He was a loving dad and granddad who will be greatly and sadly missed by his family, friends, his church, and a very special friend, Fern White. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at DeVilbiss Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, February 26, 2010, at the Radford Church of God with the Reverend Hersel Daniels officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin, Va. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Parrot Church of God or West Radford Church of God.
