Hamblin, Rosey Angell

Rosey Jacqueline “Jackie” Angell Hamblin, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. Jacqueline was born in Calloway, Virginia on September 26, 1936.

Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Angell and Vernie D. Angell; son, Thomas “Tom” Hamblin; brothers, Harless Henry Angell (Mable), and Washington Lee Angell (Loretta); sisters, Vivian Angell and Ruby Catherine Angell.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Carol Evans (Craig); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; including a special friend and caregiver, Chrerissa Windel whose help was deeply appreciated.

She retired from Virginia Tech where she worked as an Office Service Specialist in the Department of Biology for 29 years. Jackie also attended Ferrum College where she earned an associate’s degree. She grew up on a small dairy farm in Boones Mill. She was challenged with Parkinsons Disease for many years. She faced each day with a positive attitude and brave face. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed doing crafts, painting and reading. She loved to go shopping and stayed until the stores closed for the day. She also loved going to the craft fairs and yard sales during the Summers.

The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Saturday, March 22, 2025 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM in Kendall Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Poff officiating. A guestbook is available to send condolences to the family
