Hamblin, Lola Grace
Lola Grace Hamblin, age 91 of the Little Creek Community, died Friday, March 6, 2015 in Heritage Hall Nursing Facility in Blacksburg. Grace was a lifetime member of the Goshen United Methodist Church.
She will be remembered in her community, Spur Branch, as being an excellent cook, and her willingness to always help others in many ways. She will be missed by many.
She was born on September 30, 1923 in Bland County, and was the daughter of the late Genoa Davis Brunk and Houston N. Brunk. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Alton Hamblin, three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Leon and Barbara Hamblin of Christiansburg, Billy and Wanda Hamblin of Spur Branch, and Ronald and Roberta Hamblin of Pulaski; three sisters, Viola Wilson, Betty Wolfe and Hazel Vaughn; one brother, Vance Brunk. Also survived by one grandson, Shane Hamblin of Newbern, along with two step-grandchildren, David Edward Blankenship and David Allen Blankenship, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 9, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Goshen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday at the funeral home from 12 Noon until 2:00 p.m. service time.
