Glenn Miller Hamblin, 68, of Roanoke and formerly of Pembroke departed this life to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem.

Born in Giles County on May 1, 1939 he was a son of the late Robert Bernard and Louvenia Carter Hamblin. He had been employed at Buddy’s Auto Body Shop and was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-five years, Charlene Jennelle Hamblin, a sister Addie Rose, and a special grandmother Grace Carter.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Dewayne Campbell and his granddaughter Devin Campbell all of Forest; stepchildren, Trenda Anderson of Pittsburgh, Pa., and K. J. Keyton of Roanoke; two brothers and sisters-in-law, R. B. and Alice Hamblin and Tuck and Betty Hamblin all of Pembroke; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ella Rhea Hamblin and Patricia and Landon Saferight all of Wytheville.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in The Hamblin Family Cemetery at Bear Spring near Pearisburg.
