Betty Elizabeth Hamblin, 66, of Pembroke, departed this life Saturday, May 24, 2008, at her home after a long illness.

Born in Narrows, on April 5, 1942, she was the daughter of Iris Johnston Riddle, of Roanoke, and the late Luther Rufus Riddle. Betty was retired from First Virginia Bank, Pembroke Branch, as a loan officer and was a member of Pembroke Assembly of God Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her mother; her devoted husband, Melvin Tuck Hamblin; her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Billy Dudding; her sons and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Jackie Bandy and Michael Bandy; her five grandchildren, Brandon and Danielle Bandy, Chanler Bandy, Trevor and Tracey Dudding; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois and George Deisher, Reda and Jimmy Collins.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastors Eddie Kendall and Gary Poff officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park, in Pearisburg.
