Richard Lee Hall, 85, of Christiansburg died, Thursday, October 4, 2012, at Lewis Gale Medical Center. He was born in Canton, Ohio on April 7, 1927, to the late Leslie Lew and Phoebe Jameson Hall. He was also preceded in death by his sister Margaret Patterson.

He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Army. He graduated in 1951, from Purdue University and worked his entire career at Dupont as a civil engineer.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Jean Hall, daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Richard Troutman, of Blacksburg, Debbie and Ed Galanif, of Bridgewater, Mass., grandchildren, Lee Troutman, Emily Troutman, Meghan Galanif, Michael Galanif, brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Mildred Hall, of Orange, Calif.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 7, 2012, at 1 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Reggie Tuck officiating. Burial will be held at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Roanoke/Salem Chapter, P.O. Box 5014, Roanoke, VA 24012.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
