Dorothy Williamson Hall, 84, of Narrows, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Dorothy was a loving wife, wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and a true friend to all those who were fortunate to know her. She was born in Newport News, Va., on May 19, 1923, to the late John and Isadora Williamson. She married the late Perry Hall in 1944 and moved with him to Narrows in 1945 where she lived the rest of her life.

She was employed by the Virginian Leader in the 1950s and 1960s. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Narrows where she served the Lord with both grace and dignity. She also attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Narrows, just down the street from her home. She was also a faithful member of the Gideons International Auxiliary. She was truly a special, wonderful human being.

In addition to her husband and mother and father, Dorothy was preceded in death by two of her four sons, Don and Larry.

She is survived by two sons, Alan. of Charleston, W.Va., and Scott, of Roanoke. Other survivors include five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers ;and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, at the Church of God of Prophecy in Narrows with Pastor Jim Hagy officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows where at the same time, a memorial service will be held for Larry Hall, her son who passed away on October 3, 2007.
