Robert “Howard” Haley, 82, of Radford, Va., departed this life on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Pulaski Community Hospital after a long illness.

He was born August 8, 1925, in Radford Va., the son of the late Robert M. Haley and Hattie Dobbins Haley. He was a faithful member of New Mount Olive Methodist Church, Radford, Va. Robert was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army, he was a retired employee of the former Radford Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Mae Haley and four sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory four sons, Howard Haley Jr., Ronald and Donald Haley and Clarence James; eighteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; one brother, Glenwood “Thomas” Haley; four sisters, Naomi Brown, Myrtle Lewis, Christabell Lewis and Jackie Rae Moore; a host of nephews and nieces; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2008, at Radford Church of God In Christ, Russell and Clay Street, Radford, Va. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of service at Radford Church of God in Christ. Burial will be at Sunrise Burial Park Fairlawn, Va.
