Hale, Monte Franklin

Monte Franklin Hale, 60, of Blacksburg, Va., died Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on November 10, 1949, and was preceded in death by his father, Ellis Franklin Hale Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Spencer Hale; mother, Hazel Hale; daughter and son-in-law, Shawna and Jamie Lafon, all of Blacksburg; granddaughters, Sydney and Ellie Lafon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Wava and Bob Bowles, of Christiansburg, Martha and Danny McMahan, Millie and Joe Ryan, Wanda Hale and fiance, Cody Vincil, all of Blacksburg; brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Debbie Hale; mother-in-law, Summie Spencer, all of Christiansburg; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce Spencer, of Blacksburg, Connie and Richard Spencer, of Pilot, and Martha Spencer, of Christiansburg; faithful little buddy, Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009, in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Rador Vaden officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family for medical expenses, 1001 Kabrich St., Blacksburg, Va. 24060.

Friends may call any time after noon on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va.
