Hairston, Christopher Paul

Christopher Paul Hairston, 35, of Floyd, passed away Monday, December 5, 2011. Chris was a Floyd County High School graduate, class of 1994. He worked at Federal Mogul in Blacksburg. He was a volunteer coach for fourth-fifth grade little league basketball and enjoyed all sports especially football. He was a devoted father to his children. He is preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Hairston Fontaine; grandmother, Stella Mae Parker; special great-aunt, Sue Lee Helm. Survivors include fiance, Joy L. Allard; children, Taylor Alexis-Janae Hairston and Logan Christopher-Javion Hairston; sisters, Samantha Carroll Hill (Stephon) and Sarah E. Carroll; uncles, Darrell (Crystal) Parker, James Parker, Dwayne (Joyce) Hairston; a host of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held noon Friday, December 9, 2011, at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Clyde Bishop officiating.
