Charles Buford Hager, 81, of Pulaski, died Thursday, December 7, 2006 in the Pulaski Community Hospital.

Born August 11, 1925 in Max Meadows, he was the son of the late Thomas Hamilton and Mary Caldwell Hager. Also preceding him in death were a son, Charles Thomas Hager, brother, Samuel L. Hager and sister, Mary Myers Hager.

Mr. Hager was employed by Kroger with 35 years of service and served in World War II with the 88th Army tank battalion in special forces.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Wally Mader Hager; sons and daughters-in-law, Karl G. and Carolyn Hager, Bill and Anne Hager, John B. and Lynda Hager; daughter, Marie Hager; daughter-in-law, Linda Kendall Hager; brothers, William C. Hager, Thomas A. Hager; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 10, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Max Meadows United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tammy Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Hager Family Cemetery in Max Meadows. Visiting will be Saturday at Stevens Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made to the American Heart Association.
