hagan_bernard_franklinBernard Franklin (Bernie) Hagan, 82, of Christiansburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016.He was the son of the late Oscar and Opal Hagan.

He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife of 60 years, Mary Louise Puckett Hagan; daughter, Joan Marcelle Hanauer (Marty) of Christiansburg, Beverly Wheeler (Buddy) of Vinton; sons, David Lee Hagan (Judy), Terry Hagan, Charles Michael Hagan (Mary), all of Christiansburg, Don Hanauer of Salem; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruby Estep (Mack) of Bluefield, W.Va., Carol Pauley of Bland, Va.; as well as many nieces and nephews; and last, but not least his best buddy, ‘Oreo’.

Bernie was an employee of Shelor Motor Mile. He was one of a kind; he loved to pull jokes on his family and friends. Bernie had a special place in his heart for children.

A service celebrating his new life will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 2 p.m. in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Ronald Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2 hours prior to the service.
