John David Haga, 76, of the Little Creek Community, Dublin, VA, and a veteran of the United States Army, has achieved his lifelong goal, and is now in the presence of his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Born: January 23, 1939 Died: November 29, 2015.

He was a faithful and dedicated member of French’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he supported the church in various ways by serving on boards, contributing to missions and teaching children up to adults. His most important lessons were taught to his children and grandchildren. “PopPaw” will forever be known as the best story teller, domino player and block builder EVER! This world was a better place because of him and he will be greatly missed.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Hurley & Lakie Abigail French Haga and several brothers and sisters.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 53 years, Lois Parcell Haga; his sons and daughters- in- law, Michael & Arlene Haga, Dublin, Dennis & Senita Haga, Pearisburg and Chris & Robin Haga, Dublin; his daughter & son-in-law, Karen & Scott Hedge, Hiwassee; his grandchildren, who were his pride and joy, Josh Stephens, Jeremiah Fleenor, Ryan Haga, Abigail Hedge, Shawn Haga, Cassidy Hedge, Zoey Haga and Dawson Haga; a number of great-grandchildren; and his sisters and brother-in-law, Ruth & James Brewer, Seven Hill, Ohio, Linda Boswell, Parma, Ohio and Geneva Hurst, Newberry, Florida. He was not only loved by his immediate family, but by a multitude of nieces, nephews and cousins, who considered him to be a great man.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at French’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Dublin, with Rev. Bill Akers and Rev. David Wood officiating. Burial will follow at the Appalachian Conference Cemetery, Dublin, where military rites will be provided. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at French’s Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church, Dublin.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of their friends and family who supported them throughout this difficult time, especially Advanced Home Health, Good Samaritan Hospice and Dr. Russ Melton.
