Habersack, Mathew James

Mathew James Habersack, 38, of Christiansburg, passed away on January 5, 2015. Matt obtained his Master’s Degree at Virginia Tech in Biological Systems Engineering. He enjoyed hunting, cooking, and was very interested in trees.

Matt is survived by his wife, Laura Marguerite Habersack; parents, James Joseph and Vickie Lynn Habersack, of Cumberland, Maryland; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Janet McGrath; as well as many family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, January 9, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Blue Ridge Church, 1655 Roanoke St., Christiansburg, with Pastor Scott Obenchain officiating. A reception will follow the Service. A Funeral Mass will be held in Matt’s hometown of Cumberland, Maryland, details will be posted on www.hornefuneralservice.com and www.scarpellifh.com websites.
