Guynn, Peggy Lester

Peggy Ann Lester Guynn, 83 of Rich Creek passed away on Saturday, December 14th, 2013 at Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Rich Creek. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on March 9th, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Marvin L. and Carrie Elizabeth Frazier Lester.

In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Nicole Elizabeth Kirby; and brother, Marvin “Buck” Lester.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Merrill R. Guynn of Rich Creek; three daughters, Harriett G. Pardue and husband Gary of Bluefield, Virginia; Kathy G. McDaniel of Rich Creek; and Gayle Kirby and husband Robert of Blacksburg; three grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Pardue, Nora Kirby, and Joseph Kirby; a brother, Michael B. Lester of Narrows; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 17th, 2013 at 1 PM at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek. The family is being served by Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows, (540) 726-2442, and online at riffefuneralservice.com.
