guynn john evansJohn Evans Guynn, 92, of Prices Fork, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at his home. He was born in Montgomery County on November 17, 1919, to the late Sidney Clair and Effie Shores Guynn, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Dudley Guynn. Evans retired from Radford Army Ammunition Plant with 31 years of service, and also served with the United States Army 45th Infantry Division. Evans was an avid bird hunter, pursuing Ruffed Grouse until he was 90 years old. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Fred Scelzo, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; son and daughter-in-law, Dwight E. and Sally Guynn, of Shepherdstown, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Wertz officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carilion Hospice, 707 Randolph St., Suite 251, Radford, 24141. Interment will follow in the Snider Cemetery, Prices Fork.
