Emily Dalton Guynn, 82, of 3316 Vista Road, Pulaski, died Saturday morning, October 27, 2007, in the Pulaski Community Hospital.

She was born in Pulaski on June 5, 1925 and was the daughter of the late William Harless Dalton and Nellie Thomas Dalton. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Aileen Dalton Kemp and by three brothers, Lowell M. Dalton, Wilmer W. Dalton and Garland E. Dalton.

She was a member of Jordans Chapel United Methodist Church and was a retired employee of Pulaski County Public Schools.

Surviving are her husband, Delmer R. “Monk” Guynn of Pulaski; her son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Betty Guynn of Rural Retreat; a sister, Elsie Cook of Pulaski; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Ann Dalton of Pulaski and Cecil and Grace Dalton of Rising Sun, Maryland; her grandchildren and their spouses, Bradley and Lori Guynn of Rural Retreat and Brian and Jennifer Guynn of Abingdon.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 a.m., from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John Grimm officiating. Burial will follow in Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski County.

Visitation will be Monday morning from the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m., until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Jordans Chapel United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 1626, Pulaski, Va., 24301.
