Guthrie, William Alan Jr.

William Alan Guthrie, Jr., 46, of Riner, Va. and formerly of Pearisburg, died Saturday morning February 25, 2006 at his home on Little Camp Road.

Born in Pearisburg, Va. on May 18, 1959 he was a son of William Alan Gutherie, Sr. of Ripplemead and Malita Cooper Guthrie of Pearisburg.

Al was a lifetime student, graduating from New River Community College , VPI, and the Medical College of Virginia; was an avid reader; a lover of animals and plants; was a computer guru; was an accomplished pool and darts player and a member of the Blacksburg Area Darters and the Blacksburg Chapter of The American Pool Association.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his parents; his life partner Cindy Wyatt; and his maternal grandmother Mary Dishner Cooper; and a beloved family of llamas, dogs and cats.

The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday at the Pearisburg Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
