Grimmett, Jack Herman
Jack Herman Grimmett, age 65, went to heaven to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 29, 2021, at the Carilion Giles Community Hospital. Born January 25, 1956, in Hinton, WV, he was the son of the late Quilla B. and Icie M. Bowles Grimmett.
Jack loved fishing, hunting, and trading jewelry with all his friends and his brother, Paul. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need. He enjoyed telling stories of his childhood growing up in the mountains of Hinton, WV, where he was born and raised. He loved Jesus and was a good and kind man who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Travis, Lester, and Kermit Grimmett; and one sister, Phyllis Jean. Those left to cherish Jack’s memory include his loving wife of 25 years, Teresa Grimmett; two sons, Matthew and Michael Grimmett; two grandsons; one granddaughter. Additionally, Jack is survived by eight brothers, James Grimmett (Betty), who was Jack’s best friend that talked to him every day, of Hinton, WV, Charles Grimmett of Toledo, OH, Paul Grimmett (Peggy) of Sandstone, WV, Quilla Grimmett Jr., Doug Grimmett, Curtis Grimmett (Alice), Roger Grimmett (Becky), and Jerry Grimmett (Sherry), all of Hinton, WV; four sisters, Ollie Meacham of Port Clinton, OH, Clara Mansfield (Frank) of Hinton, WV, Aretta Jane Finnemore (Robert) of New York, and Delilah Campbell of Crab Orchard, WV; four sisters-in-law, Sue Martin, Sherry McCrady, and Lisa Dunn, all of Narrows, VA, and Linda Thornhill of Pearisburg, VA; two brothers-in-law, Roger Dunn of Narrows, VA, and Steven Dunn of Peterstown, WV; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00PM on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at the Peterstown Cemetery in Rich Creek, VA. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at 2:00PM at Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home in Peterstown, WV.
