William (Bill) Walter Griffith, 64, of Dublin, Va., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Bill was born on May 3, 1954 in Radford, Va. and was the son of the late Walter G. and Macie Davis Griffith.

He was a 1972 graduate of Radford High School and he was also a member of the 1971 State Football Championship team. He served in the United States Navy where he received the American Spirit Honor Medal as a recruit. Bill was currently employed at Moog Aspen Motion Technologies in Radford. He was employed for many years at Kollmorgen in Radford. He was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman, painter, and Bigfoot hunter.

Bill is preceded in death by his older brother, Roger Wayne Griffith. Bill is survived by his wife of thirty-two years, Deborah Reed Griffith; two sons, William Tyler Griffith and Adam Garnett Griffith; his sister and her husband, Margaret Fern and Donald Martin of San Jose, Cali.; his brother and his wife, Timothy D. and Jeannie Griffith of Christiansburg, Va.; sister-in-law, Barbara Griffith of Radford; his aunts, Doris Davis of Ripplemead, Va. and Johanna Davis of Danville, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Funeral services will begin directly after at 2 p.m. with Pastor Joe Racek officiating. Military honors and a committal service will follow at DeVilbiss Funeral Home.

Those desiring may meet at DeVilbiss Funeral Home at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019 to join in the funeral procession to the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin where Bill will be interred. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford is in charge of arrangements.
