Greever, Mary Lois Lane

Mary Lois Lane Greever, 91 of Pearisburg went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 9th, 2011 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. She was born in Washington County, Virginia on March 25th, 1919 and was the daughter of the late John C. and Lilly Mae Campbell Lane. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Saybird Greever, Sr.; a son, Billy Wayne Greever; an infant brother along with five brothers, Roby Lane, Earnest Lane, Clark Lane, George Lane, and J.C. Lane; and four sisters, Mildred Johnson, Blanche Sheppard, Lena Holt and Maggie Thurston. Mary will always be remembered for her kindness and love for friends as well as her love for life itself. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Herman S. “Junior” Greever, of Pearisburg, and a sister, Nonie Mullen of Bristol Tennessee; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many special friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 11 AM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor John Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Angels Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM.
