Green, Yvonne

Yvonne Green went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 15, 2014. She was born on November 25, 1938 in Stokes County, NC. She graduated from Big Creek High School in 1957 and later attended Blue Ridge Community College.

Yvonne married the Reverend Ralph Green in 1957. They were married for almost 52 years. Ralph and Yvonne pastored four churches in the Appalachian Conference of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church before retiring to Gainesville, GA. Their longest pastorate was at the Shenandoah Pentecostal Holiness Church where they spent almost 32 years. Yvonne served the church faithfully as the pianist, senior adult Sunday school teacher, and in any other capacity where she was needed. Their final pastorate was at Trinity Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA. Yvonne continued to serve as the church pianist at Trinity Baptist until her death.

Yvonne worked at Harrisonburg Medical Associates in Harrisonburg, Virginia while they lived in Shenandoah as the Director of Communications.
Yvonne had two children, Ravonne Green (Gainesville, GA) and Garry Green (Wilmington, NC). In addition to her children, Yvonne is survived by three sisters, Margaret Rogers (Dublin, VA), Aileen Collins (Ridgeway, VA), and Marie Hollingsworth (Huntsville, AL). She has one brother, Jim Bishop (Oakridge, NC).

Yvonne will be remembered for her unending love, dedication, and faithful service to others and to the kingdom.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 12:00 noon at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 955 Memorial Dr., Pulaski, Virginia. Interment will be at the Appalachian International Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery with Bishop Preston Mathena officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am at the church.
