Green, Archie M.

Archie M. Green, age 87, formerly of Gap Mills, WV, went to sleep in Jesus’ arms on Monday, July 1, 2019, at the Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem, VA. Born August 9, 1931, he was the son of the late Luther Green and Ora Workman Green. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nan Green; six sisters, Verda Green Knight, Beatrice Green McMahan, Millard Green, Margie Green Allen, Myrtle Green Bailey, and Ethel Green Adams; and four brothers, Earnest Green, Troy Dale Green, Charles William Green, and James Green.

Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Archie was a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran, he served in the military for three years from 1951-1954. He was stationed at St. Nazaire, France; Fort Leonard, Missouri; and Ladd Airforce Base in Alaska. Additionally, he retired after 30 years as a Millwright for Ferro Corporation in Cleveland, OH.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 6, 2019, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel in Peterstown, WV, with Pastor Jim Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Alexander Church Cemetery in Sarton, WV. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of services on Saturday at the funeral home. Dalford McMahan, Ronnie Green, Timmy Lilly, Johnny Steele, Ronnie Steele, and Michael Milliron will serve as pallbearers.
