Gray, Robert Franklin

Robert Franklin (Mousie) Gray, 80, of Narrows, Va., went home to be with the Lord Jesus on Monday, March 29, 2010 at Carilion Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg. A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on July 28, 1929, and was the son of the late Sidney E. and Creddie Sexton Gray. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Alma Jean French Gray; two daughters, Bonnie Gray and Dreama Gray; and two sisters, Sarah Robertson and Peggy Stone. He was a retired employee of Celanese Acetate in Narrows with over 49 years service. He had many friends from work and farming, which he loved before and after retiring. He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, Joyce Faye Lindsey and husband, Willis Earl Lindsey, of Narrows; a grandson, Earl Dwayne Lindsey and wife, Glenda Faye Lindsey, of Pearisburg; a granddaughter, Lisa Faye Rice and husband, Thomas Eugene Rice of Pembroke; four great-grandchildren, Breanna, Megan and Thomas Rice, of Pembroke, and Amber Gallimore, of Pearisburg; two brothers, Gale Gray and wife, Leta Gray, of Narrows, and George Gray and wife, Phyllis Gray, of Atkins, Virginia. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 1, 2010, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
