Gray, Dorothy Louise Minnick

Dorothy Louise Minnick (Dottie) Gray, 64, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was born in Montgomery County, Va., on November 27, 1944, and was preceded in death by her father, Elmore Cecil Minnick; and her son, Brian Keith Gray.

Dottie worked at the National Bank of Blacksburg and retired from VPI & SU with many years of service.

She is survived by her mother, Mamie Vaught Minnick, of Bassett; two sisters, Nellie M. Handy, of Radford, and Pattie M. Jefferson, of Bassett; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Raymond “Butch” and Jo Ann Minnick, of Bassett, and Elmore Dean and Glenda Minnick, of Martinsville; a grandson, Brian Dominic Gray; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted noon on Friday, October 2, 2009, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John M. Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. Friends may call anytime after noon on Thursday, October 1, 2009, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., SW, Blacksburg, Va.
