gray_daniel_galeDaniel Gale Gray, 69, of Narrows, closed his eyes and went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 26, 2010 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. A lifelong resident of Giles County, he was born on December 3, 1940 and was the son of the late Sidney E. and Creddie Sexton Gray. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Runions Gray, a brother, Robert F. (Mousie) Gray and two sisters, Sarah Robertson and Peggy Stone. He was a retired employee of First Virginia Bank with 36 years of service and was a member of the Kellysville Church of God. An avid farmer, he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He was a friend to everyone, and will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 39 years, Leta M. Gray, of Narrows; Michael Gray and wife, Patricia, of Christiansburg, Clarence Gray and wife, Debbie, of Ballard, West Virginia; six grandchildren, Scotty Gray, Gage Gray, Tyler Gray, Katie Gray, Elizabeth Gray and Jodi Gray; one great-grandchild, Cierra Gray; one brother, George Gray and wife, Phyllis, of Atkins, Virginia; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and special friends, Lonnie and Virginia Stone, Roger and Ronald Runions, all of Pearisburg, Tommy Gautier, Raymond McDaniel and Reggie Bowers, all of Narrows, and his buddies at Food Time in Narrows. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 29, 2010 at Kellysville Church of God from 6 to 8 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 8 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Franklin Adkins. A graveside service will be conducted Friday, July 30, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
