Gravley, Sandra Frances Atwood
Sandra Frances Atwood Gravley, 57, of Pulaski, Va., passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at her residence. She was born September 4, 1951, in Giles County. She was preceded in death by her son, Larry D. Spicer; her father, Edd C. Atwood; and a brother, Perry Atwood. She was a member of New Life Tabernacle in Pulaski for 30 years.
She is survived by her husband, Laythan R. Gravley, of the home; one son, Nathanael Lee Gravley and Jessica, of Pulaski, Va.; one daughter, Melissa Saunders, of Pulaski, Va.; stepdaughter, Sandra Lovern, of Pulaski, Va.; her mother, Frances V. Atwood, of Narrows, Va.; one brother, James C. Atwood, of Christiansburg, Va.; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia and Jack Jones, of Narrows, Va., Linda and Willis Farmer, of Hiwassee, Va., Debbie Atwood, of Narrows, Va. and Shirley Atwood, of Narrows, Va.; one granddaughter, Arianna Gravley, of Pulaski, Va. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Mike Bond, the Rev. Tommy Ramsey and the Rev. Richard Holmes officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, Va. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Barnett Funeral Home, Wytheville, Va. is in charge of arrangements.
