Rodney Avalon Gravley I, of 3687 2nd Morehead Lane, Pulaski, Va., died Tuesday night, May 19, 2009, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was born in Pulaski County on January 24, 1938, and was the son of the late Lewis Fielding Gravley and Laura Alley Gravley.

He was a retired truck driver where he had 20 years of service with Blue Ridge Transfer in Roanoke, Va., and he was owner and operator of Gravley Trucking in Pulaski, Va.

Surviving are his wife, Annie Gravley, of Pulaski; sons and spouses, Rodney A. Gravley II and Tresia, of Pulaski, Timothy Dale Gravley and Audrey, of Pulaski, Tony Randall Gravley and Rebecca, of Dublin, and Bobby Lee Gravley and Linda, of Willis; two grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2009, from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Chester Linkous and the Rev. Herman Sarver officiating. Burial will follow in the Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski County. Visiting will be held on Friday evening, May 22, 2009, at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
