Graham Sr., Wade Campbell

Wade Campbell Graham Sr., 87, of Blacksburg, Va., died on Tuesday, November 11, 2008, at Kroontje Health Care Center. He was born in Kyle, W.Va., on April 11, 1921, to the late Henry Wade and Mattie Winters Graham. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Graham; and his sister, Virginia Thomas.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army. Mr. Graham retired from Hercules after 40 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bertie Elizabeth Graham, of Blacksburg; his daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and Phelps Dillon, of Charleston, S.C.; his sons and daughters-in-law, Wade Campbell Jr. and Pearl A. Graham, of Riner, Richard A. “Dickie” Graham and fiance, Beth Murray, of Blacksburg, and Jan Aaron and Wanda T. Graham, of McCoy; eight grandchildren, Darrell Graham, Angel Montgomery and husband, Larry, Denise Graham, Deanna Graham, Nikolaus Dillon and wife, Deanna, Angela Dillon, Tiffany and Jaron Graham; two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Isabelle Dillon; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Gene Kegley, and June and Albert Hamlin, all of Blacksburg; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby Graham and fiance, Marie Roark, and Donnie and Sandra Graham, all of Blacksburg.

The family wants to express a special thank you to Dr. J. Michael Payne, the E.R. staff at Montgomery Regional Hospital, the staff in the Cove at Kroontje Health Care Center, and nurse, Venus, with Carilion New River Valley Hospice.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Woody officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.

Friends may call anytime after noon on Thursday, November 13, 2008, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, S.W., Blacksburg, Va.
