Hello. Your dad was my academic advisor at Virginia Tech. He was also the professor of many of my education courses. I graduated in 1987. This coming fall will be my 29th year of teaching.
I want to let you know that your father had a tremendous impact on my life. He taught his classes with a passion for the curriculum. He was without a doubt the most influential teacher I ever had at Virginia Tech. I told him that, but I did not keep up with him over the years. I don’t know if your mom is still alive, but I did have the pleasure of meeting her when your dad invited several students to his home… He was that kind of teacher. He really cared about his students. He engaged his students and ran a classroom where we could participate, discuss, and ask any questions that we had.
I just happened to see your name when I searched the Internet, and I tried to look up your mom but I could not find her on Facebook.
I don’t know if you will receive this message, but if you do, I want to let you know how important your dad was to me. God bless and best wishes.
