Graham, Lena M.

Lena M. Graham, 90, of Beckley, W.Va., formerly of Pulaski, went peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Thursday evening, April 11, 2013, after a short illness. She has now been made whole again.

Born March, 1923, in Pulaski County, she was the daughter of the late Jordan Franklin Morris and Lillie Sue Smith Morris. She was a born again Christian and a member of Newbern Community Christian Church. She loved her church family, and enjoyed their visits often. She had previously resided at the Pulaski Retirement Center and the Summit Assisted Living. She loved participating in the church services and playing bingo.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy, in 1976; her daughter, Mary Ann Mitchell in 2010; and brothers, Roscoe, Bentley, and Shirley; and sisters, Maggie Hall, Metta Gunn, Callie Moore, Ruby Jennings, Claudia Phillips, Kyle Altizer, and Gertrude Stiltner.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Hodges and her husband, Rusty; son-in-law, Russell Mitchell; sister-in-law, Ruth Elkins; grandchildren, Andrea Brush and husband, Brad, Patricia Furr and husband, Bill, Lisa Rolan and husband, Mike, and Rusty Mitchell and wife, Lori. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Emma, Noah, Jacob, Ashley, Daniel and Sara; and great-great-grandson, Ulrich Lee. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, whom she was very close to.

A special thanks to those who went the extra mile during these last few years.

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Graham will be 3 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2013, at Seagle Funeral Home in Pulaski. Visitation with the family will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Pastor Ernie Depew will be conducting the service. Friends and family may gather at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 2013, at the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens mausoleum in Beckley, W.Va. for graveside services.
