graham_laura_dishonLaura Ellen Dishon Graham, 96, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 2, 2010 at Wheatland Hills in Radford, Va. Laura was born on September 22, 1913. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor White Graham; her parents, Thomas and Sarah Ellen Simpkins Dishon; her sisters, Mae D. Marshall, Eurilla D. Bishop, and Betty D. Phillips; and her brothers, Lonnie, French, Freeman, Tom and Alvis Dishon. Victor and Laura previously operated a dairy farm on Little River Dam Road and also worked at Burlington, and later raised beef cattle. Laura was a hard worker, a homemaker, a faithful wife of over 65 years and a member of Snowville Baptist Church. Some of her favorite sayings were “I have never met anyone I didn’t like,” “May God bless you,” and “I love you, but don’t tell anyone.” She is survived by her loving nephew and niece-in-law, Lacy and Dorothy Dishon, who have been her devoted caregivers for over three years and will greatly miss her; and several nieces and nephews. Our appreciation is extended to Dr. A. Howard and her staff; and to Wheatland Hills staff, especially Eden Count, for their loving care of Laura. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2010, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Neal Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. on Sunday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Flowers will be appreciated, however, memorials may be made to the Joy Ranch or to the Alzheimer’s Association . The Graham family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford, Va.
