Gore, Gary Alan

Gary Alan Gore, 55, of Radford, Va., died in his home on Monday, September 14, 2009. He was born December 17, 1953, in Jacksonville, Fla., the son of the late Sennett Ward and Cecil Louise Gore.

He later moved to Southwestern Virginia where he lived for most of his life. Mr. Gore attended Radford High School and continued his education at Radford University, graduating with a bachelor of science degree in accounting. Gary worked as an auditor with the Defense Contract Auditing Agency for nearly 20 years.

Gary was a passionate follower of politics, always eager to share his opinion or to battle wits with his more liberal children. He was an avid collector of knives and guns and a proud member of the NRA. Some of his happiest moments were spent playing with the family dogs, Ollie and Parker.

Mr. Gore is survived by his son, Jason Gore (Kristen), of New York City; and his daughter, Emily Gore, of Seattle, both children from his 32 year marriage to Karen Gore, of Seattle. He is also survived by his brother, Gerald Gore (Francine); and five nieces and nephews.
