Lois West Gibbs Goldsmith, 83, of Radford, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2006, at the Kroontje Health Care Center, Blacksburg, Va. She was born April 7, 1922 in Bedford, Va. to the late Walter A. and Kate Foutz Gibbs.

Preceded in death by her husband, John Marshall Goldsmith. Also, preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde, Floyd, Aubrey and Loyd David Gibbs and a stepson, John M. Goldsmith II.

She is survived by her daughter, Mira Gibbs Goldsmith Anderson; two grandchildren, Lois Katherine Anderson and Mollie Rebecca Anderson, all of Radford. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Anne M.Goldsmith and step-grandchildren, Sarah, John III, Frances and Reese Goldsmith.

Lois graduated from Jefferson School of Nursing in Roanoke, Va. and School of Anaesthesia in Cincinnati, Ohio She worked as an Anesthetist for over forty years at Radford Community Hospital. Throughout her life, Lois strived to help other people. She will also be remembered for her wonderful cooking and unlimited energy, especially when walking.

The funeral service for Lois West Gibbs Goldsmith, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2006 at Grace Episcopal Church, 4th and Harvey Sts., Radford, Va., with the Rev. Kris Krammer officiating. With a reception at 12 p.m. noon in the church Parish Hall. Interment of ashes will be at 2 p.m. at the Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, Va.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to Grace Episcopal Church, Memorial Fund or Grace Garden Fund, Radford, Va. or to the Kroontje Health Care Center, Blacksburg, Va.
