Godbey, Dorothy Elizabeth

Dorothy Elizabeth Godbey, 77 of Radford, passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2007. She was born August 4, 1930 the daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Kate McCraw Godbey and lived in Radford all her life.

Dorothy was a warm loving person who adored her family and enjoyed giving freely to their needs. Her greatest love was all the neighborhood and stray cats she fed, loved and nursed back to health when they showed up on her porch looking for a tender rub that she loved to provide.

She was preceded in death by her son, Donald Godbey and her siblings Lawrence Godbey, Mary Price, Lois Spence, Thomas Godbey and David Godbey. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Hazel Godbey and Joyce Godbey; a daughter Stephanie; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Humane Society of your choice. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the time of the service on Saturday. The Godbey family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
