Vivian Virginia Thompson Goad, 87, of Willis, passed away Friday December 30, 2005 at her home. She was preceded in death by her father, Greenville Carell Thompson, mother Inez Graham Thompson, son Wayne Conley Goad, brothers Ernest Thompson, Baxter Thompson, sisters Daphna Turman, Sylvia Cox, Bertie Huff, Odell Phillips and Ocie Moore.

Vivian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She is survived by her husband Nellis Heath Goad; daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce Quesenberry of Willis, Maybellene and Clinton Smythers of Hillsville, Linda and Frank Stanley of Bluefield, Va.; sons and daughter-In-law, Harlan and Corrine Goad of Roanoke, Leonard Goad of Willis; daughter-in-law, Virginia Goad of Radford; sister Ivory Dalton of Radford; 24 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six stepgreat-grandchildren; one stepgreat-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday January 2, 2006 at the Indian Valley Church of God with Rev. Kenneth Poston and Rev. Joe Cox officiating with interment to follow at the Capt. George Quesenberry Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday January 1, 2006 at the Indian Valley Church of God. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd.
