Goad, Lawrence Turney

Lawrence Turney Goad, 84, of Radford, passed away, Friday, January 9, 2009 at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. He Served in the United States Army during World War II.

He is preceded in death by his infant daughter, Mary Sue, and a son-in-law, Gary McNeil. Surviving are his wife, Edith Lyon Goad; sons and daughters-in-law, Turney and Carolyn Goad, Roger and Pam Goad; daughters and son-in-law, Della and Johnny Poff, Nina McNeil ; sister, Gracie Kimbleton; brother, Wiley Quesenberry; grandchildren, Gregg and Christy McNeil, Wess and Theresa McNeil, Michelle Goad and Andy Maxie, Amy Goad, John and Karen Poff, Rocky and Tammy Huff, T.J. (Travis) Goad, Cody Goad, Christine Wampler, Jennifer Waddell; ten great grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2009 at DeVilbiss Funeral Home with the Rev. Fred Austin officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2009 at DeVilbiss Funeral Home.
