amem_lake-pier.jpgJB Goad, 75, of Willis, was lifted into God’s embrace on Saturday, July 12, 2008, after a long fought cancer battle. JB was born October 30, 1932, to William Charlie Goad and Della Ousley Goad who preceded him into God’s care.

Surviving him are brothers, Gerald Hubert Goad, of Willis, and Hanford Leo and Pauline Goad, of Indian Valley; daughter, Betty Goad Aikens and husband, Charles, of Allisonia; granddaughter, Michelle Sartin Newman and husband, Berlin “Randy”, of Willis; and extended family. Also very dear to his heart and left behind are great grandchildren, Contessa R. Newman and Berlin R. Newman Jr.; friends, Bill Underwood and Dorothy Smith and their grandchildren, Brittany and Megan. Also survived by two nieces and their families.

JB Goad was a member of Willis Baptist Church and a simple hard working farmer and sawmill owner. He will be remembered as a devoted father and family man and a friend who went out of his way to help others. He will be greatly missed by many.

Family will receive friends 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2008, at Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd. Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at the Cox Cemetery, Dugspur, with Pastor Joseph P. Cox officiating.
