Gilmore, Yvonne Denise

Yvonne Denise Gilmore, 73, of Christiansburg, went home, into the arms of her Heavenly Father on November 30th, 2020. Yvonne was born in Binghamton, NY, but loved and raised her family in the NRV, where she’s been a blessing to everyone she’s met for over 50 years.

She was so proud of putting in over 30 years working at Hills Department Store, where she served her community with a smile on her face and met many lifelong friends. Yvonne was a kind, feisty, loving, beautiful warrior, surviving two rounds of breast cancer. With all of her might, she loved Jesus, her family, her pets, Gospel Light Baptist Church and all of her friends.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Hiler; father, William Heath; her mother, Reba Williams; her sister, Nancy Evans; her brother, Dale Williams; and her niece Brandi Lee. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Greggs and her husband, David, and Sandra Bowles; her grandchildren, Stacie Brown and her husband Garrett, Emily Davis, James Bowles III, and Michaela Bowles; as well as her great-grandchildren, Cory Brown, Hunter Brown and Eden Brown. She also leaves behind her beloved fur children, Snoopy, Buddy, Grayson, Fluffy and Pepé.

The family wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation, the many expressions of love, concern and kindness during this difficult time.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 8, 2020 from 1-2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. in the Chapel, with interment to follow in Sunset Cemetery.
