Gillispie, Joyce Ann

Joyce Ann Gillispie, 74, of Pembroke, departed this life Saturday morning, March 2, 2019 at her home. Born in Pearisburg on October 23, 1944 she was a daughter of the late Millard and Lula Griggs Janney.

She was a 1964 graduate of Giles High School and had been employed as a retail clllerk in pharmacies and jewelry stores. She was raised in the Baptist faith.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband if 54 years Edward E Gillispie; her sons and daughters-in-law Tim and Dayla Gillispie of N. Los Vegas, NV and Steve and Rhonda Gillispie of Pembroke; her grandchildren Chris Gillispie of NY,NY, Abigale Gillispie of Starkville, MS, and Alex Huskey of Pearisburg; a special cousin Bootsie Barrett of Woodbridge, VA and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 12:00 noon in the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke with Pastor Gary Poff officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the services.
