Gillispie, Dorris Saunders

Dorris Saunders (Dot) Gillispie, 72, of Radford, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at New River Valley Medical Center. She was born in Mt. Tabor on September 13, 1940, to the late Earl M. Saunders and was also preceded in death by a brother, Earl M. Saunders Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Jack D. Gillispie, of Radford; mother, Clara Sowers Saunders, of Radford; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Ralph Memitt, of Pulaski, Patricia and James Ferrell, of Floyd; son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Jennifer Gillispie, of Blacksburg; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Danny Bishop, of Walton, Sue and Robin Sherwood, of Pulaski; grandchildren, Skyler Memitt, Maegen Memitt, Hannah Gillispie, Kayleigh Gillispie, Tucker Ferrell; stepgrandchildren, Colby Memitt, Matthew Memitt.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Neal Wood officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Radford Fire and Rescue Department, 10 Robertson Street, Radford, VA 24141 or Good Samaritan Hospice, 1160 Moose Dr., NW, Christiansburg, VA 24073.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., SW, Blacksburg.
