Curtis Junior Gillispie (Poppy), 63, of Cascade Drive in Pembroke, a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, departed this life Wednesday morning October 4, 2006 at his home.

Born in Pembroke on August 20, 1943, he was a son of the late Frank and Gertrude Young Gillispie. Curtis was retired from Chemical Lime at Kimballton as a maintenance foreman, was a member of Pembroke Volunteer Fire Department and a member of Castle Rock Lodge No. 334 AF&AM in Pembroke.

He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 41 years, Regina Marshall Gillispie; a daughter and son-in-law, Tammie and Michael Wade of Christiansburg; two sons, Curtis Von Gillispie and fianc?e, Shirley Bain of Christiansburg, Brian Dale and wife, Cindy Gautier Gillispie of Pembroke; five grandchildren, Tyler, Matthew, and Alex Gillispie, Isaac and Olivia Wade; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward Jay and Joyce Gillispie of Pembroke; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Tobie Cumbee of Pembroke; and many special friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
