Gillenwater, Terry Ray

Terry Ray Gillenwater, 62, of Christiansburg, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2020 while surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones. Terry was born on Christmas day in Giles County, Virginia and grew up in Radford.

Terry was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Bernard Gillenwater; maternal grandparents, James Garfield and Minnie Frazier Perdue; and paternal grandparents, Harvey and Dora Gillenwater.

Survivors include mother, Mary Perdue Rickborn of Christiansburg, VA; his son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Candace Gillenwater of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Brooklynne, Zachary and Lillian Dowdy; sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Mike Rosasco of Greensboro, NC; half-brother, Mark Gillenwater of Radford, VA; niece and her husband, Macy and Jordan Klein of Greensboro,

NC; nephews, Spencer Crigler and Brandon Crigler of Charlotte, NC; the mother of his child, Kathy Smith Gillenwater of Christiansburg and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Monday, August 24, 2020 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. with Hayden Cran officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
